In order to promote the development of respiratory disciplines in the region, promote academic exchanges in respiratory diseases, guide, organize, develop and strengthen the team of respiratory physicians, and promote the development of health care, the founding meeting of Respiratory Committee of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association was held in Chengdu on the afternoon of May 21st, 2021.

The meeting was presided over by Zhou Jueqiao, Director of Memberacy and Organization Management Department of Chengdu High-Tech Medical Association. Wang Yongsheng, Vice President of Chengdu First People's Hospital, Chen Yunfeng, Director of Respiratory Department of Chengdu First People's Hospital, and 72 respiratory disease professionals from major hospitals in Sichuan Province attended the establishment meeting of the professional committee. Through deliberation, the congress democratically elected the standing committee, vice chairmen, incoming chairmen and leading bodies of the special committee. Director Chen Yunfeng of Chengdu First People's Hospital was elected as the chair. Professor Dong Yan of Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was elected as the candidate chair. Professor Li Qunying from the First People's Hospital of Chengdu, Professor Zheng Yuqiong from the First People's Hospital of Chengdu, Professor Yin Jun from the Third People's Hospital of Chengdu, Professor Yan Hao from the Second People's Hospital of Chengdu, Professor Chen Mei from the Fifth People's Hospital of Chengdu, and Professor Zhou Hui from the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University were elected as vice-chairmen.

The successful holding of the inaugural meeting of the Respiratory Committee marks the vigorous development of the academic organization of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association, and will play a significant role in promoting the improvement of the medical, scientific and teaching level in various fields of respiratory medicine. I sincerely hope that the Respiratory Committee of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association will play a leading role in the work of "strengthening the grassroots and promoting transformation", actively explore a new mode of transformation of medical and industrial cross-integration of scientific and technological achievements, actively promote the collaborative innovation and development of regional medical specialty and biomedical industry, and make new contributions to the development of health undertakings.
