In order to further enhance the service ability and clinical skill operation level of nursing staff, and to play the role of nursing staff in maintaining and promoting people's health, combined with the problems and weak links in nursing skill training in grassroots medical institutions, on the afternoon of April 7, 2023, sponsored by Chengdu High tech Medical Association, The "Clinical Nursing Skills Operation Training Course for Grassroots Medical Institutions" jointly organized by the Simulated Medicine Special Committee and the Nursing Special Committee of Chengdu High tech Medical Association was held at the Medical Simulation Center of Chengdu First People's Hospital. More than 30 head nurses and nursing backbone students from various medical institutions participated in the training.
At the beginning of the training, welcome speeches were delivered by Zeng Yunlan, the head of the Medical Simulation Center, Liu Surong, the director of the Nursing Department of Chengdu First People's Hospital, and Ai He, the deputy secretary general of Chengdu High tech Medical Association. The trainees were introduced to the detailed situation of the Medical Simulation Center and the purpose and meaning of this training, aiming to improve their professional knowledge, enhance the nursing operation ability and technical level of grassroots medical institutions, and promote the construction of nursing talent teams.
The training invited basic life support instructors of the American Heart Association of the First People's Hospital of Chengdu, education supervisors of the Medical Simulation Center, core teachers and corresponding head nurses to give lectures. The small class practice mode was adopted, and the contents covered 12 basic nursing operations commonly used in clinical practice, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, defibrillation, catheterization, oxygen inhalation, etc. The entire training is divided into four phases, with a systematic, coherent, and standardized approach to enhance the hands-on and clinical thinking abilities of grassroots students.
This training aims to further standardize nursing operational skills, enhance the professional literacy of nursing staff, and have important guiding significance for future clinical work. It provides patients with more comprehensive and humanized high-quality nursing services, and assists in the high-quality development of nursing industry.
The Medical Simulation Center of Chengdu First People's Hospital is a "sister training center" jointly established with the BRATUS Medical Simulation Center of Brigham and Women's Hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School in the United States. Currently, it is the fifth partner in the world and the first partner in China. The center became the American Heart Association Basic Life Support Training Center in October 2021, and passed the certification of the International Medical Simulation Association in December 2022. It is the third medical institution in China to pass the international certification.
