Sponsored by Chengdu High-tech Medical Association, The 2024 Academic Conference of Pancreatic Disease Special Committee of Chengdu Hi-tech Medical Association and the Year-end Summary Meeting of Pancreatic Cancer MDT jointly organized by the Department of Pancreatic Surgery of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Department of Abdominal Oncology of West China Hospital, Pancreatic Cancer MDT Team of West China Hospital and Pancreas Cancer Comprehensive Treatment Ward of West China Shangjin Hospital was successfully held in Chengdu on December 29, 2024.

The conference aims to promote academic research and exchanges related to pancreatic diseases, gather physicians and technical talents related to pancreatic cancer, and deeply discuss innovative strategies and difficulties of multidisciplinary combination therapy (MDT) for pancreatic cancer, so as to promote cross-disciplinary collaboration and improve the diagnosis and treatment level of pancreatic cancer.

Well-known pancreatic cancer MDT teams in China include the team of West China Hospital of Sichuan University led by Professor Tian Bole and Professor Cao Dan, the team of Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine led by Professor Shen Baiyong and Professor Jiabin Jin, and the team of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University led by Professor Jiang Kuirong. The team of Union Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology led by Professor Wu Hehe all participated in the event.

At the conference, teams brought cutting-edge developments and successful case studies in pancreatic cancer diagnosis and treatment, providing participants with valuable academic resources and clinical experience. Professor Tian Bile, Professor Cao Dan, Professor Shen Baiyong, Professor Jiang Kuirong and Professor Wu Hehe attended and delivered speeches as the chairmen of the conference. They summarized and shared the latest progress and results of MDT treatment model for pancreatic cancer, adding a strong color to the academic atmosphere of the conference.

In addition, Professor Zhang Yi, member of the MDT team of Pancreatic Surgery Department of West China Hospital and chair of the Pancreatic Diseases Special Committee of Chengdu Hi-tech Medical Association, served as the executive chairman of the meeting, ensuring the smooth progress and efficient communication ‌. The successful holding of the conference not only provided a platform for experts and scholars in the field of pancreatic diseases to communicate, but also made a positive contribution to promoting the improvement of the diagnosis and treatment level of pancreatic cancer.
