In recent years, the treatment of critically ill patients has progressed rapidly. How to get accurate and timely treatment of critically ill patients in the golden treatment window is the main problem facing the emergency department. The Academic Exchange Conference on New Progress in Acute and Critical Care in 2024 (Project number: C24-01-110000223), sponsored by Chengdu High-tech Medical Association and undertaken by Chengdu BOE Hospital, was successfully held on September 21, 2024. This meeting advocated strengthening the construction of a large platform for emergency care, establishing a multidisciplinary collaboration concept led by emergency care, and effectively taking patients as the center and completing comprehensive treatment of patients on the platform.

The opening ceremony of the meeting was presided over by Zhang Yu, Director of the Emergency and Critical Care Center of BOE Hospital. Ai He, Vice President and Deputy Secretary-General of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association, and Wang Cunbang, Vice president of Chengdu BOE Hospital attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

Well-known experts from inside and outside the province gathered in Chengdu to jointly focus on the new achievements, new progress and new technologies in the development of emergency and critical care medicine, in-depth discussions around the concept and practice of emergency and first aid platform, emergency medicine scientific research thinking and other topics, and share valuable experience with participants.

The meeting invited well-known scholars from inside and outside the province to exchange and discuss with the attending emergency physicians face-to-face, which built a platform for enhancing understanding, learning and long-term communication for the development of emergency and critical care medicine, provided a valuable learning opportunity for the majority of medical and health workers, and played an important role in further standardizing and popularizing the diagnosis and treatment technology of emergency and critical care and the construction of a large platform for emergency care.
