With the rapid development of testing technology, microbiological testing techniques are constantly being updated and iterated. As a new type of pathogenic microorganism detection method, mNGS plays an increasingly important role in clinical diagnosis and treatment due to its high efficiency and accuracy. In order to better popularize and promote this technology, promote its clinical application, and strengthen academic exchanges. The Chengdu High tech Medical Association successfully held a seminar on pathogenic microorganism infectious diseases diagnosis technology in Chengdu from December 19 to 21, 2024. Focusing on the hot spots in the diagnosis of pathogenic microorganism infectious diseases, the forum invited more than ten well-known experts and young and middle-aged scholars from all over the country and the province to make special academic reports for the association, explaining the principle of mNGS new technology and its combination with traditional microbial testing, interpreting expert consensus, guidelines and operating specifications, improving the awareness and application ability of laboratory personnel on new technology, and strengthening the communication between testing and clinical practice.
