Chronic diseases mainly include cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes and oral diseases, as well as endocrine, kidney, bone, nerve, rheumatic immunity and other diseases. Chronic diseases are a serious threat to the health of Chinese residents and have become a major public health issue affecting the country's economic and social development. The occurrence and prevalence of chronic diseases are closely related to factors such as economy, society, population, behavior, and environment. With the acceleration of industrialization, urbanization, and population aging in our country, the impact of residents' lifestyles, ecological environment, and food safety on their health is gradually becoming apparent. The number of chronic diseases, illnesses, and deaths is increasing, and the burden of chronic diseases on the public is becoming increasingly heavy. The comprehensiveness and complexity of factors affecting chronic diseases determine the long-term and arduous nature of prevention and treatment tasks.
The "Healthy China 2030" Plan Outline proposes the implementation of a comprehensive prevention and control strategy for chronic diseases, aiming to achieve health management of chronic diseases for the entire population and life cycle by 2030. In 2017, the General Office of the State Council issued the "Medium - and Long Term Plan for the Prevention and Control of Chronic Diseases in China (2017-2025)", which deployed the prevention and control of chronic diseases in the next 5 to 10 years, with a focus on controlling chronic disease risk factors and building a healthy supportive environment. Health promotion and management were used as means to improve the overall health quality of the population, reduce the risk of high-risk populations, and reduce preventable chronic disease incidence, death, and disability. Based on the above background, the Chengdu High tech Medical Association successfully held the first phase of the Chronic Disease Precision Diagnosis and Treatment Improvement Project Series Meeting online on December 17, 2024.
