The founding Conference and the First Academic Conference of the Colorectal Cancer Professional Committee of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association, hosted by Chengdu High-tech Medical Association and organized by West China Hospital of Sichuan University/West China Shangjin Hospital, was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province on January 10-11, 2025.
结直肠癌专委会成立大会 On the morning of January 11th, over 100 experts in the field of colorectal surgery from major hospitals both within and outside the province attended the founding conference of the Colorectal Cancer Specialized Committee of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Charter" and "Academic Organization Management Measures" of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association, the conference announced the recommendation situation and qualification review report of 104 candidates for committee members, and democratically elected the first professional committee leadership team including the standing committee members, the chairperson, and the vice-chairperson. Professor Li Li from Shangjin Hospital of West China Hospital of Sichuan University serves as the honorary chairperson of the special committee, and Professor Wang Xiaodong from West China Hospital of Sichuan University is elected as the chairperson. Professor Wang Xiaodong, the chairperson of the committee, elaborated in his speech on the key directions that the special committee will focus on in the future from four aspects: "strengthening clinical research", "sharing surgical techniques", "assisting grassroots assistance", and "increasing popular science education and publicity".
