With the rapid advancement of medical technology, emerging innovations such as minimally invasive surgery, robotic-assisted surgery, AI-assisted diagnosis and treatment, and precision medicine are profoundly transforming traditional approaches in general surgery. To explore the latest developments in surgical techniques, innovative procedures, and solutions for complex cases, while promoting the exchange and dissemination of cutting-edge knowledge, the "FIS2025 Academic Forum on Key Issues in General Surgery", organized by the Chengdu High-Tech Medical Association, was successfully held in Nanjing on April 12, 2025.

The conference aimed to establish a high-level academic exchange platform, bringing together leading experts, researchers, and clinical practitioners in the field of general surgery across the nation to engage in in-depth discussions on critical issues in clinical practice and scientific innovation. Through various formats, including special lectures and multidisciplinary case discussions, the forum showcased the latest technological achievements and clinical experiences, facilitating the standardized application and widespread adoption of advanced techniques. Additionally, the event sought to bridge the gap between fundamental research and clinical practice, accelerating the translation of scientific findings into real-world applications—particularly in key areas such as hepatobiliary-pancreatic diseases and gastrointestinal oncology—to optimize personalized treatment strategies and refine precision surgical approaches, thereby improving outcomes for complex conditions.

For young physicians and primary healthcare professionals, the forum served as both a valuable opportunity to learn advanced techniques and concepts and a crucial platform to broaden academic perspectives and establish international collaborative networks.
