The vigorous rise of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has brought revolutionary opportunities for the precise diagnosis, individualized treatment planning and therapeutic effect evaluation of gynecological diseases. To actively promote the in-depth integration and innovative application of minimally invasive and non-invasive technologies and artificial intelligence in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological diseases, and to meet the growing demand for precision medicine, the "Founding Conference and Academic Conference of the Special Committee on the Development of Minimally Invasive and Non-invasive Gynecology and Artificial Intelligence" was successfully held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province on June 27, 2025, hosted by the Chengdu High-tech Medical Association and organized by West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University.

Founding conference

On the evening of June 27th, over 80 experts from major hospitals in the region specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, life sciences, artificial intelligence (AI) technology and related fields participated in the founding conference of the Gynecological Minimally Invasive and Artificial Intelligence Development Committee of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association both online and offline. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Charter" and "Academic Organization Management Measures" of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association, the conference passed the review and democratically elected the first leadership team of the special committee, including the standing committee members, the chairperson, and the vice-chairpersons. Professor Guo Tao from West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University was elected as the chairperson. Professor Bian Ang from the School of Computer and Software Engineering of Xihua University, Professor Fan Zhenxin from the School of Life Sciences of Sichuan University, Professor Huang Sheng from West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Ji Xiaoli from the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Professor Pan Changqing from Mianyang Central Hospital, and Professor Sun Yanan from Sichuan University were elected as vice chairpersons (in alphabetical order by surname).

Professor Guo Tao, the newly elected chairperson, expressed: "I sincerely thank you all for your trust and support!" The establishment of the special committee is precisely to build an interdisciplinary platform and systematically promote the integrated and innovative application of the two major technologies of gynecological minimally invasive and non-invasive techniques and artificial intelligence throughout the entire chain of "prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation" of gynecological diseases. At the meeting, the first functional Party group of the Gynecological Minimally Invasive and Artificial Intelligence Development Special Committee of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association was established. Among the 52 Party members of the special committee, after recommendation and discussion, the special committee unanimously agreed that Guo Tao from West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University, Pan Changqing from Mianyang Central Hospital, and Zeng Xi from West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University would serve as members of the Party working group. Among them, Comrade Guo Tao serves as the head of the Party work group, Comrade Pan Changqing is in charge of discipline inspection and organizational work, and Comrade Zeng Xi is responsible for publicity work. After the Party group was established, the special committee held a Party lesson study.

Academic conference

Immediately after the founding conference, the first academic meeting of the Gynecological Minimally Invasive and Artificial Intelligence Development Committee of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association was held. The academic conference session featured four experts delivering wonderful keynote speeches, presenting a cross-disciplinary intellectual feast to the participants.

Professor Huang Sheng from West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University shared the breakthrough practices of AI in optimizing gynecological diagnosis and treatment processes and reducing patient waiting times under the title of "Artificial Intelligence Facilitating Hospital Diagnosis and Treatment Efficiency Improvement". Professor Fan Zhenxin from the College of Life Sciences at Sichuan University conducted an in-depth analysis of "The Application of Bioinformatics and AI in Biomedicine", and looked forward to the huge potential of the combination of genetic data and AI. Professor Sun Yanan from Sichuan University demonstrated the innovative application of intelligent technologies in medical scenarios through the sharing of key technologies of the Intelligent Connected Building of West China Stomatological Hospital. Finally, Professor Guo Tao from West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University delivered the closing speech titled "The Application of 3D Reconstruction in Gynecological Diseases", vividly elaborating on how imaging technology and AI can empower precise surgical planning.
