To advance the development of cardiac function assessment disciplines and specialties in Southwest China, and to promote the widespread application of new technologies and telemedicine, the Fifth Tianfu Cardiac Function Academic Conference was successfully held in Chengdu from July 19-20,2025. Co-organized by the Chengdu High-Tech Medical Association and Sichuan Ultrasound Medicine Quality Control Center, and jointly hosted by Chengdu First People's Hospital, Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, and the Cardiac Function Committee of Chengdu High-Tech Medical Association, this event also included the Sichuan Ultrasound Medicine Quality Control Center's cardiac sub-specialty conference, a cardiac imaging evaluation technology workshop, and a standardized atrial fibrillation diagnosis and treatment seminar. The conference gathered over 30 nationally renowned experts who delivered specialized academic presentations, covering the deep integration of electrocardiography, cardiac ultrasound, and clinical medicine. These presentations showcased comprehensive, precise, and efficient latest research achievements and technical advancements in cardiac function diagnosis and treatment. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange, the event broke down disciplinary barriers, facilitated resource sharing and complementary strengths, and propelled innovation and development in cardiac function diagnostic and therapeutic technologies.
The second plenary session of the Cardiac Function Committee of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association was successfully held on July 20,2025. Professor Chen Xinyun, Chairman of the Committee, delivered a report on the committee's work summary and plans for the second term. Professor Chen Xu, Vice Chairman, led the committee members in a Party education session.
Professor Chen Xinyun highlighted the committee's remarkable achievements in organizational development, grassroots medical technology implementation, public health education initiatives, and academic activities. He emphasized that the committee will continue to uphold the principle of "mutual cooperation and collective advancement," driving high-quality development in cardiac function diagnosis and treatment while providing superior healthcare services to patients.
Professor Chen Xu led the committee members to study the Code of Conduct for Deepening the Study of the Central Eight Rules on Discipline, and deeply integrated the learning and education with the hospital's reform and development, as well as the improvement of the institutional system and the building of a risk defense line, so as to create a clean political ecology and a good atmosphere for undertaking business.
The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Professor Deng Yan from Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital. Professor Ai He, vice president and deputy secretary-general of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association, Professor Yang Xiao, vice president of Chengdu Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, and Professor Chen Xinyun, director of the second Committee on Cardiac Function, delivered speeches respectively.
Vice President Ai He first extended heartfelt congratulations on behalf of Chengdu High-Tech Medical Association for the successful convening of this conference. He then highly praised the remarkable achievements made by the Cardiac Function Committee under the leadership of Director Chen Xinyun and through the collaborative efforts of all committee members. The committee has achieved significant results in establishing academic platforms, promoting clinical technologies, and building talent development pipelines. Looking ahead, Vice President Ai He hopes the committee will continue to uphold innovative development principles, achieve new breakthroughs in scientific research, technology promotion, and talent cultivation, and looks forward to experts attending the conference fully utilizing this platform to exchange cutting-edge research findings and share valuable clinical experiences, collectively contributing wisdom and strength to enhance diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities in China's cardiac function field. Finally, President Ai wished the conference a complete success!
Vice President Yang Xiao first extended the warmest welcome and sincere gratitude on behalf of Chengdu Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine to all experts and colleagues attending the conference, while congratulating the event's successful convening. He then introduced that the hospital's Cardiology Department is recognized as a National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine Key Specialty, a Sichuan Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine Integrated TCM-Western Medicine Key Specialty, and a Chengdu Medical Key Discipline. Established in 1985, the Heart Function Department features two pioneering laboratories: the Cardiovascular Laboratory (National TCM Research Laboratory), Chengdu Ultrasound Quality Control Center, and the Electrocardiogram Diagnosis Laboratory (Chengdu Key Laboratory), making it one of only two such specialized facilities in Chengdu. The department has pioneered advanced cardiac technologies including non-invasive imaging, electrophysiology, and surgical ultrasound support, while providing remote electrocardiogram consultations for regional medical institutions. It has also hosted multiple research visits from the National Health Commission, provincial/municipal health authorities, and peer institutions, earning widespread acclaim. Finally, President Yang expressed his hope that the conference would drive academic progress, enhance cardiovascular disease diagnosis and treatment capabilities, and safeguard public health. He wished the event a complete success!
Chairperson Chen Xinyun first expressed heartfelt gratitude to all attending experts, participants, relevant organizations, and staff for their support of this conference. She then emphasized that against the backdrop of the still severe challenges in cardiovascular disease prevention and treatment, this meeting has provided a vital academic exchange platform and practical guidance to enhance China's cardiovascular health management capabilities. Finally, she sincerely hoped the conference would become a pivotal academic hub—not only facilitating the exchange and mutual learning of cutting-edge research findings, but also serving as a new starting point for translating scientific achievements into clinical practice. Together, we should implement the new technologies, advancements, theories, and knowledge discussed at the conference into clinical work to ultimately benefit patients nationwide.
