On November 15, 2025, the 2nd Academic Conference of the Medical Science Popularization and Health Education Professional Committee of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association, together with the Multidisciplinary Collaborative Clinical Skills Training on Weight Management, was grandly held in Chengdu. This conference aimed to promote the coordinated development of medical science popularization and health education in Southwest China, and enhance the professional capabilities of clinical medical staff and medical technicians in the region in health science popularization, cancer prevention and treatment, weight management, and chronic disease prevention and control.

In the morning, the plenary committee meeting of the Professional Committee was held. Professor Du Rongsheng, Chairman of the Medical Science Popularization and Health Education Professional Committee of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association, gave a work report. Professor Du reviewed the achievements of the Committee's science popularization activities over the past year, and planned to focus on precise science popularization, expand service scenarios, and strengthen talent training in the new year, committed to advancing the construction of "Healthy China".

Subsequently, Liu Min, Vice Chairman of the Nursing Health Science Popularization Special Committee of the Medical Science Popularization and Health Education Professional Committee of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association, led the Party class study. Ms. Liu interpreted the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee and the blueprint for Chinese-style modernization, emphasizing the need to strictly implement the eight-point regulation of the Central Government through the "Three Meetings and One Class" system, self-examination and self-correction, and disciplinary inspection and supervision, strengthen academic integrity and medical ethics norms, and continuously promote the construction of the Party's work style.

Opening Ceremony
At the opening ceremony of the conference, Vice President Xue Fan from Shangjin Hospital of West China Hospital, Sichuan University delivered an opening speech. President Xue expressed his respect to experts and colleagues who have long been committed to the cause of health science popularization, and stated that Shangjin Hospital will continue to support medical science popularization and health education work in the future, encourage clinical experts to actively participate, and build a comprehensive health service system.

In the academic conference session on the same day, the diagnosis and treatment progress and prevention and control strategies of obesity-related diseases were discussed, the communication methods and practical paths of health science popularization were in-depth exchanged. From a multidisciplinary perspective, combined with clinical hotspots such as cancer prevention and treatment, it promoted the development of medical science popularization and health education towards a more diversified and professional direction. The wonderful sharing by experts brought a rich academic feast to the participants.
