In response to the "Healthy China 2030" initiative, and to further strengthen the prevention and treatment of obesity and related metabolic diseases, promote multidisciplinary collaborative diagnosis and treatment models, and enhance the technical expertise of healthcare professionals in obesity management within the region, the Seminar on Standardized Diagnosis and Treatment for Obesity Prevention and Weight Management was held in Chengdu on November 13 and 26, 2025. The event was organized by the Chengdu High-Tech Zone Medical Association.

The seminar aimed to update the knowledge base of healthcare professionals at all levels through systematic theoretical training and cutting-edge technology exchanges. It sought to foster a unified understanding of obesity as a complex chronic disease, moving beyond the traditional reliance on lifestyle interventions alone. The event focused on disseminating the latest diagnostic and treatment concepts, standardized assessment methods, diverse treatment strategies (including nutritional, pharmacological, psychological, and surgical interventions), and long-term follow-up management approaches. By cultivating a core group of professionals proficient in advanced obesity diagnosis and treatment techniques, the seminar will help drive the dissemination of high-quality medical resources, gradually narrow regional disparities in diagnosis and treatment standards, and ultimately enhance weight management and overall health among residents of Sichuan Province. This initiative lays a solid foundation of talent for advancing the "Healthy Sichuan" campaign and alleviating the social and economic burdens associated with obesity-related diseases.
