To thoroughly implement the national policy guidelines on promoting the development of clinical specialty capabilities and focus on the core mission of high-quality hospital development, the Chengdu High-Tech Medical Association successfully held the "Specialty Capability Building Promotion Initiative" series academic event—the Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Exchange Academic Salon—on December 11, 2025. This salon aimed to facilitate in-depth interdisciplinary dialogue and cutting-edge academic discussions to help medical institutions establish specialized departments, innovate management models, improve medical quality, and inject new momentum into specialty development.

Clinical specialty capability serves as the cornerstone of hospital services for patients and is a critical guarantee of medical quality and safety. Documents such as the "Healthy China 2030" Plan Outline, the Guiding Opinions on Promoting High-Quality Development of Public Hospitals, and the National Health Commission’s Guiding Opinions on Promoting Clinical Specialty Capability Building all place clinical specialty development at the forefront of medical service system reform. Against this backdrop, this academic salon focused on lung cancer diagnosis and treatment as a starting point, delving into key topics such as multidisciplinary collaboration (MDT), precision medicine, and standardized diagnosis and treatment, with the aim of exploring systematic pathways for enhancing specialty capabilities. The salon brought together renowned experts from various disciplines, including thoracic surgery, medical oncology, respiratory and critical care medicine, imaging, pathology, and radiation oncology. Based on the latest clinical practices and research advancements, the participating experts focused on the following topics: "Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Immunotherapy Resistance: Insights from Mechanisms to Combination Therapy Strategies" and "Comprehensive Care for Lung Cancer 'From Early to Advanced Stages'—A Patient-Centered Approach to Clinical Decision-Making and the Value of Odivo in Full-Course Management."

The successful hosting of this academic salon provided high-level learning and exchange opportunities for medical professionals in the fields of lung cancer and related areas within the region. It also offered valuable insights and methods for medical institutions at all levels to advance clinical specialty capability building. In the future, the Chengdu High-Tech Medical Association will continue to deepen the "Specialty Capability Building Promotion Initiative" series of academic activities, organizing targeted exchanges around different specialty areas. This will help medical institutions overcome development bottlenecks, enhance service efficiency, ultimately benefit patients, and contribute professional expertise to the Healthy China initiative.
