To tackle the challenges of ILD's strong heterogeneity and complex comorbidities, create a seamless, deeply collaborative path across multiple disciplines, and strengthen regional treatment standards for better patient outcomes, the “ILD Comorbidity Standardized Treatment Capacity Enhancement Workshop,” organized by the Chengdu Hi-Tech Medical Association and hosted by its Interstitial Lung Disease Committee, was held in Chengdu on August 29, 2026.

Academic conference

This event centered on 'focusing on the forefront of comorbidities, standardizing diagnosis and treatment pathways, and empowering full-process management,' bringing together top experts and clinical leaders from respiratory medicine, rheumatology, gastroenterology, critical care, and clinical genetics from both within and outside the province. The conference focused on five key areas: ILD and the gut-lung axis, ILD and OSAS, ILD and gene mutations, ILD and lung infections, and ILD and RA. It deeply explored the cross-talk between gut microbiota and lung immunity, the cumulative effect of sleep apnea-driven hypoxia on ILD, phenotypic heterogeneity caused by gene mutations and personalized intervention strategies, precise prevention and control of infectious complications, and multi-dimensional management of immune-related interstitial lesions. Through discussions on hot topics, case reviews of difficult cases, and practical pathway breakdowns, the event offered all attendees a thought-provoking experience that combined academic depth with clinical usefulness.

The successful holding of this conference not only provided a high-level platform for academic exchange for ILD practitioners but will also strongly promote the implementation and improvement of a standardized ILD comorbidity diagnosis and treatment system, injecting new momentum into improving the long-term prognosis and quality of life for many ILD patients.
