In order to promote the development of kidney disease in Panxi area, popularize peritoneal dialysis treatment and standardize the diagnosis and treatment of peritoneal dialysis-related complications, organised by the Chengdu high-tech Medical Association, the "Learning Salon for new progress in peritoneal dialysis treatment in pan-xi region" was held at the Panzhihua Central Hospital, attracting more than 50 healthcare professionals. Prof. Sichuan University Li Zi of Hwaseo Hospital, Prof. Liu Fang of Hwaseo Hospital, Prof. Zhou Ping of Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, and Dr. He Hongbin, associate director of Panzhihua Central Hospital, delivered the opening speech, chen Li, assistant chief nurse, Panzhihua Center Hospital, liu Lin, associate director of Panzhihua Central Hospital, gave lectures and actively discussed on such topics as "self-management education for family peritoneal dialysis patients" , "current situation and prospect of peritoneal dialysis in China" , "calcium and phosphorus management" , "standard diagnosis and treatment of peritoneal dialysis infection" , "education for peritoneal dialysis patients" and "case sharing and discussion" .

The purpose of this seminar is to sum up experience, exchange problems and provide suggestions for further treatment of patients with peritoneal dialysis in southwest China. The smooth holding of the seminar not only strengthened the analysis and outlook of the current situation of patients with peritoneal dialysis in southwest China, it has also played an active role in improving the diagnosis and treatment level of the medical staff of the basic-level peritoneal dialysis.
