Emergency essentials

① If the family members have a sudden stroke without any warning, the family members should not be panicked and restrain their emotions.

② When waiting for the ambulance staff, if the patient is conscious, he should be told to stop activities immediately, avoid falling, place the patient supine, keep the environment quiet, avoid noisy personnel, pay attention to comfort the patient, relieve the tension.

(3) If the patient lost consciousness, the patient can be placed in the lateral decubitus position, the head later back, in order to keep the airway unobstructed; Remove the patient's dentures and promptly clean up vomit in the patient's mouth to prevent the patient from inhaling it into the lungs; If there is a tic attack, you can use chopsticks or small strips of wood wrapped in gauze pad between the upper and lower teeth, to prevent biting the tongue; If the patient has the symptoms of urgency of breath, throat phlegm, etc., plastic tube or rubber tube can be inserted into the patient's throat, from the other end of the mouth suction sputum.

④ Pay close attention to the patient's consciousness, blood pressure, respiration and pulse, and keep warm. Do not feed or drink water. Ice packs or cold towels can be applied to the patient's forehead to help stop bleeding and reduce intracranial pressure.

And finally, again,

Be sure to remember the following two stroke principles

1. Rapid identification and rapid medical treatment: time is the brain. Timely and appropriate treatment can control the development of the disease as far as possible, minimize the degree of brain injury, and lay a good foundation for the rehabilitation of late stroke.

2. Early, sustained and correct rehabilitation: the brain has plasticity, and early, sustained and correct rehabilitation training will help to better recover some or even all of the patients' lost functions.
