With the advancement of medical technology and the continuous development of minimally invasive treatment concepts, endoscopic ligation, tissue gel injection, sclerotherapy, and other treatments have become the preferred treatment options for portal hypertension and gastrointestinal varices in liver cirrhosis. In order to further promote new technologies, perspectives, and concepts, the city level continuing medical education project "Training Course on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Internal Hemorrhoids and Gastrointestinal Varicocele" was successfully held online on December 1, 2023, sponsored by Chengdu High tech Medical Association and undertaken by Chengdu BOE Hospital.

  This meeting invited well-known experts from the province to jointly discuss and share new technologies, concepts, and methods for the diagnosis and treatment of internal hemorrhoids and gastrointestinal varices. The conference was rich in content and focused on practicality, providing a platform for learning and communication among digestive endoscopists.

  The meeting opened with speeches from President Han Yuping of Chengdu BOE Hospital and Vice President and Deputy Secretary General of Chengdu High tech Medical Association Ai He. Subsequently, Professor Wen Liming from Mianyang 404 Hospital in Sichuan Province interpreted the "Guidelines for Endoscopic Treatment of Internal Hemorrhoids", and Professor Zhang Yan from West China Hospital of Sichuan University shared the "Management of Endoscopic Treatment for Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding", Professor Fang Li from Chengdu BOE Hospital interpreted the prevention and treatment of esophageal and gastric variceal bleeding in patients with cirrhosis and portal hypertension, while Professor Sun Xiaobin from Chengdu Third People's Hospital focused on the application of endoscopic ultrasound in portal hypertension. In the second half of the meeting, Professor Xu Hui from Chengdu BOE Hospital discussed the full process management of endoscopic treatment for esophageal and gastric varices with everyone. Professor Bao Yu from Sichuan Cancer Hospital shared how to efficiently conduct high-quality upper gastrointestinal endoscopic examinations. Professor Li Zhenmao from Sichuan People's Hospital had an in-depth discussion on the optimization and exploration of endoscopic treatment for esophageal and gastric varices, Finally, Professor Qiao Lijuan from Chengdu BOE Hospital introduced the postoperative management of endoscopic treatment for internal hemorrhoids.

  Finally, Professor Fang Li from Chengdu BOE Hospital summarized the meeting and highly praised the significance and achievements of this training course. She also encouraged medical staff to keep up with medical development and continuously improve their professional competence and diagnosis and treatment level.
