On February 28, 2025, the founding meeting of Obstetrics and Gynecology Anesthesiology Group and Perioperative Nursing Group of Chengyu Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine Special Committee was held as scheduled. After deliberation by the General Assembly, the head and deputy head of the student group were democratically elected. Professor Huang Han from West China Second Hospital of Sichuan University and Professor Lei Xiaofeng from Chongqing Maternal and Child Health Hospital were elected as the heads of the anesthesiology Group of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Professor Tang Li from West China Hospital of Sichuan University and Professor Zhong Changyan from the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University were elected as the heads of the perioperative Nursing group. Prof. Liu Chaowen from Chongqing Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Prof. Jiang Yan from Bishan Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Prof. Zhang Bo from Chongqing Changshou District Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Prof. Zhang Yi from Wanzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Prof. Xiong Yaqin from West China Second Hospital of Sichuan University, Prof. Huang Qinghua from Chengdu Women's and Children's Central Hospital, Prof. Wang Hua from Sichuan Modern Hospital and Prof. Zhang Kun from Wanyuan People's Hospital were elected as obstetrics and gynecology department Deputy Head of Anesthesiology Group, Professor Song Xiaobo from the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, Professor Chen Xian from the Chinese People's Liberation Army Special Medical Center, Professor Yang Chang from the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Chongqing University, Professor Guo Yunqing from Jiangjin Hospital of Chongqing University, Professor Lei Chunmei of Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University, Professor Wang Chunhui of Xinlimei Medical Beauty Hospital, Professor Le Gaohui and Professor Chang Hong of Shangjin Hospital of West China Hospital of Sichuan University were elected as deputy leaders of perioperative Nursing Group.

After the establishment of the General Committee and the Standing Committee of the Chengdu-Chongqing Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine Special Committee, Comrade Huang Han, the leader of the functional Party group of the special Committee, led all members to study the party class. Prof. Wang Rurong and Prof. Wei Ke, chairpersons of the Special Committee, made a summary of the work of the Special Committee in 2024 and the work plan in 2025 to the conference, and all members discussed the next step of the work of the Special Committee, and made suggestions for the development of the Special Committee.

On the morning of March 1, 2025, the academic conference was officially opened under the chairing of Professor Wang Rurong, Chairman of the special Committee. Professor Ai He, Vice President and Deputy Secretary-General of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association, Professor Xu Just, President of Shangjin Hospital of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Liu Jin of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, and Professor Zhu Tao of West China Hospital of Sichuan University attended the opening ceremony and addressed the conference.

Then, a series of wonderful academic exchange events kicked off, where experts and scholars from Chengdu and Chongqing shared the latest research results and exchanged the most cutting-edge treatment technologies.

The second session focused on the "Critical case discussion", and the participating experts discussed the anesthesia management strategy of critical patients in combination with the characteristics of the cases, providing valuable experience for improving the success rate of treatment of critical patients.

The third session, "Obstetrics and Gynecology Anesthesia Session," focused on hot topics such as obstetric anesthesia risk management, labor analgesia techniques, and anesthesia strategies for perinatal patients. In combination with clinical practice, the participating experts shared the standardization and individualized diagnosis and treatment plans of obstetrics and gynecology anesthesia, which provided important ideas for improving the safety of mothers and infants.

Sub-conference four "Perioperative Nursing Sub-conference", covering the quality management of anesthesia nursing, nursing scientific research, anesthesia nurse management and other aspects. Combined with clinical cases, nursing experts shared the practical experience of fine management and multidisciplinary collaboration, which provided strong support for improving the quality of perioperative nursing.

This conference is rich in content and diverse in forms, with both high-level academic reports and practical exchanges close to clinical practice, fully demonstrating the vigorous development of anesthesia and perioperative medicine in Chengdu-Chongqing area. The successful holding of the conference not only built a high-quality platform for academic exchanges, but also injected new vitality into the innovative development of anesthesia and perioperative medicine.
