The 13th Western Endocrinology and Metabolism Forum and the 2025 Academic Annual Meeting of the Endocrinology Committee of Xinjiang Medical Association, jointly organized by the Xinjiang Medical Association and Chengdu High-Tech Medical Association, concluded successfully in Urumqi, Xinjiang from May 8 to 10,2025. Hosted by the Endocrinology Committee of Xinjiang Medical Association and co-organized by the Western Endocrinology and Metabolism Branch of Chengdu High-Tech Medical Association and the Diabetes Committee of Xinjiang Medical Association, this conference focused on "Advancing Multidisciplinary Collaborative Innovation through Frontier Research in Metabolism and Diseases". Nearly 1,000 experts, scholars, and clinical practitioners from across China gathered to discuss the latest advancements in endocrinology and metabolic fields and share practical clinical achievements. The conference featured keynote presentations by over 30 renowned experts in endocrinology and metabolism from China and abroad, covering hot topics such as diabetes, obesity, and thyroid disorders. Through academic lectures and case discussions, the experts shared innovative achievements in translating basic research into clinical applications, while proposing precision and personalized diagnostic-treatment strategies tailored to the prevention and management characteristics of metabolic diseases in western regions. Professor Zhao Jiajun emphasized in his opening speech: "Interdisciplinary collaboration is key to tackling complex metabolic diseases, and the academic exchange platform in western regions has injected new momentum into the integrated development of the discipline." As a high-incidence area for metabolic diseases, Xinjiang was specially designated for a thematic seminar. Experts discussed optimized approaches for nutritional interventions, early screening, and tiered diagnosis and treatment at the grassroots level, considering regional population characteristics. This provided crucial data support for regional prevention and control efforts. At this forum, basic research experts and clinicians engaged in in-depth discussions on molecular mechanisms of metabolic diseases and bottlenecks in drug development, with lively on-site interactions. The conference not only facilitated academic resource sharing but also laid a solid foundation for improving the Western China Metabolic Disease Prevention and Control Network. Participants unanimously praised the forum's cutting-edge content and diverse formats, noting it provided a high-quality platform for academic exchanges and interdisciplinary collaboration in endocrinology and metabolism. The organizing committee will compile the meeting outcomes into expert consensus to support the implementation of the Healthy China strategy in western regions.
