On the evening of July 18th, the second term election meeting of the Ophthalmology Professional Committee of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association was successfully held. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Charter of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association" and the "Management Measures for Academic Organizations of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association", and with the approval of the Secretariat of the association, the election for the new term will be carried out strictly in accordance with the organizational procedures and requirements for the election. First, Professor Fan Yingchuan, the first chairperson, delivered a term work report, summarizing a series of work carried out by the special committee, which was unanimously recognized by all the committee members. The meeting reported on the recommendation status and qualification review reports of 93 candidates for committee members.

Professor Lei Chuntao from Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital has taken over as the chairperson of the second Ophthalmology Professional Committee. Professor Wu Tong from Sichuan Eye Hospital was elected as the incoming chairperson. The deputy chairperson is: Professor He Yue from the Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University, Professor Hu Jianbin from Chengdu Aier Eye Hospital, Professor Li Kaiming from Suining Central Hospital, Professor Qiao Gang from Mianyang Wanjiang Eye Hospital, Professor Wang Wanjie from the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Professor Wang Zhanfeng from Chengdu Third People's Hospital, and Professor Yang Xiaoli from the Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College (in alphabetical order of their surnames). A total of 85 committee members participated in the election both online and offline.

 Professor Lei Chuntao, the chairperson, first expressed his gratitude to the first ophthalmology Special Committee for their hard work in the past term. He stated that in the face of the people's growing demand for high-quality eye health and the rapid development of ophthalmic diagnosis and treatment technologies, he is well aware that challenges and opportunities coexist on the road ahead. In the future, he will join hands with the new members of the special committee to confront the challenges and jointly write a new chapter in the development of ophthalmology.

Professor Wu Tong, the incoming chairperson, first expressed his gratitude to all the committee members for their trust and support in his speech. He expressed that in the future, he would continue to carry out and fulfill the mission entrusted by the society as always, contribute to the development of the special committee, and contribute to the eye health of the people.
