On October 31, 2025, the inaugural meeting of the Pediatric Solid Tumor Professional Committee of the Chengdu High-Tech Medical Association was successfully convened in Chengdu. Jointly hosted by the Chengdu High-Tech Medical Association and West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University, the committee's establishment aims to integrate medical resources both within and beyond the region, building a high-level platform for academic exchange and collaboration. This initiative holds significant importance for advancing the overall standard of pediatric solid tumor diagnosis and treatment, strengthening professional talent development, and promoting standardized construction and sustainable development within the discipline.

The meeting attracted 77 experts from 23 medical institutions across the province and beyond, who gathered to witness the committee's inauguration. Through deliberation and democratic election, the committee elected its Chairperson, Chairperson-Elect, Vice Chairpersons, and Standing Committee members. Professor Gao Ju from West China Second University Hospital was elected as the inaugural Chairperson, Professor Guo Xia from the same institution was elected as Chairperson-Elect, Prof. Liu Wenjun from the Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University, Prof. Chen Yan from the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University, Prof. Zhou Min from Chengdu Women and Children's Center Hospital, Prof. Zhang Rong from Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, Prof. Shen Kong from West China Second University Hospital, and Prof. He Guoqian were elected as Vice Chairpersons.

At the meeting, the approval for establishing the Party Working Group of the Pediatric Solid Tumor Specialized Committee was read aloud. Among the 44 Party members of the committee, Comrades Wu Jianrong, Shen Chengqi, and Lu Feng were recommended and approved by the Society's Party Branch to form the Working Group. Comrade Wu Jianrong serves as the Group Leader, Comrade Shen Chengqi is responsible for discipline inspection and organizational work, and Comrade Lu Feng handles publicity work. Comrade Wu Jianrong led all committee members in studying the Party lecture titled “The Spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.”

Professor Ai He, Vice President and Deputy Secretary-General of the Chengdu High-Tech Medical Association, was invited to deliver the opening address. He first extended warm congratulations on the establishment of the Specialized Committee. He expressed hope that the committee would effectively fulfill its role in leading the discipline, build a platform for academic exchange and talent cultivation, and continuously enhance the overall prevention and treatment of pediatric solid tumors both within and beyond the region through standardized diagnosis and treatment and deepened collaboration, thereby making greater contributions to safeguarding children's health.

Looking ahead, the Specialized Committee will diligently fulfill its responsibilities, fully leverage its guiding and radiating influence, and continuously enhance comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities and service quality for pediatric solid tumors through deepening regional collaboration, strengthening academic exchange, and optimizing talent development mechanisms. It will make new and greater contributions to safeguarding children's health both within and beyond the region and advancing the progress of pediatric medicine.
