To thoroughly implement the spirit of a series of policy documents, including the "Healthy China 2030" Planning Outline, the "Guiding Opinions on Promoting High-Quality Development of Public Hospitals," and the National Health Commission's "Guiding Opinions on Promoting Clinical Specialty Capacity Building," and to firmly grasp the fundamental task and core foundation of hospital construction and development—clinical specialty capacity building—the Chengdu Hi-Tech Medical Association specially planned and organized the "Specialty Capacity Building Promotion Initiative" series of academic events. Aimed at assisting medical institutions in building leading specialties, improving management mechanisms, exploring technological innovation, and strengthening quality and safety systems to break through development barriers, enhance service efficiency, and activate endogenous growth drivers, the "Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Exchange Academic Salon," as a key component of this series, was successfully held on November 26, 2025.

This academic salon closely centered on the core theme of "Promoting High-Quality Development through Specialty Capacity Building," focusing on critical issues in current clinical specialty capacity building. These included, but were not limited to, the scientific assessment of specialty capabilities, medium- and long-term specialty development planning, multidisciplinary collaboration (MDT) and specialty cluster construction models, refined clinical specialty management systems and operational mechanisms, innovation and application of cutting-edge medical technologies, and the cultivation of high-quality, professional talent teams. The meeting aimed to establish a high-level, in-depth, and multi-dimensional exchange platform. The salon brought together renowned domestic experts highly respected in the field of lung cancer prevention and treatment, as well as in hospital management and specialty construction. Through various formats such as keynote speeches, experience sharing, and case analyses, the experts integrated advanced theories, forward-looking management concepts, and rich practical experience. Participants not only shared successful practices and valuable experiences from their respective institutions in areas such as constructing multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment models for lung cancer, clinical technological innovation, quality and safety control, integration of research and education, and specialty operation management but also engaged in profound and constructive discussions on the common challenges and bottleneck issues faced by medical institutions at all levels in enhancing capacity for lung cancer and related specialties. Together, they explored practical solutions and development pathways.

The conference was characterized by a strong academic atmosphere and lively discussions. Attendees generally agreed that the salon was substantial in content and highly targeted, providing guidance from a policy perspective alongside in-depth practical analysis. It offered significant inspiration and reference value for clarifying the direction of specialty development, optimizing diagnosis and treatment models, improving management efficiency, and stimulating innovation. The exchange further solidified the consensus that strengthening clinical specialty capacity building, particularly advancing multidisciplinary collaborative diagnosis and treatment capabilities for major diseases such as lung cancer, is an essential requirement and a key measure for enhancing the overall level of medical services, meeting the growing health needs of the people, promoting the high-quality development of public hospitals, and ultimately contributing to the realization of the Healthy China strategic goals.

The successful holding of this "Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Exchange Academic Salon" marks a positive start to the Chengdu Hi-Tech Medical Association's "Specialty Capacity Building Promotion Initiative" series of academic activities. The Association will continue to leverage its role as an academic platform and bridge, organizing diverse and substantial academic exchange events centered on different professional fields. It aims to gather industry wisdom, share best practices, and collectively explore pathways for the continuous improvement of specialty capabilities, thereby contributing professional strength to the high-quality development of China's medical and health sector.
