To promote the popularization of minimally invasive treatment techniques for varicose veins, standardize the clinical application of venous ultrasound, and facilitate acadeexchange and professional improvement among medical staff in the region, the Health Education and Large-scale Free Clinic Activity, as well as the First Conference on Minimally Invasive Treatment Varicose Veins and Standardization of Venous Ultrasound, was successfully held in Chengdu from March 13 to 15, 2026. Jointly nized by the Chengdu High-tech Medical Association, the Chengdu Society of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology, and the Chinese Society of Microcirculation Varicose Vein Group, thence focused on the frontier progress of minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins and standardized venous ultrasound operation. It attracted active participation from numerous medical staff in vascular surgery, ultrasouedicine, and related fields from across the province and beyond, establishing a high-quality platform for learning and exchange among industry peers.

This conference features a strong lineup, with Professor Qi Xianfen from Chengdu Beixin Hospital serving as the Executive Chair, and Professorei Jiacai, a nationally renowned expert in varicose vein treatment and Head of the Varicose Vein Group of the Committee of Peripheral Vascular Diseases of the Chinese Society of Microcirculation, serving as the Conference Chair. Renowned industry experts such as Lu Man, Peng Junlu, Zhang Zhang, Zhou Hong, and Zhao Yongfeng serve as Co-Chairathering top scholars from across the country, the conference is provided with a solid guarantee for its academic quality.

On March 13, a health education campaign and large-scale free clinic for varicose veins in the lower limbs brought professional diagnosis and treatment as well as health knowledgeectly to the "doorsteps" of the public. Combining their expertise with the characteristics of the grassroots population, the experts explained the causes, early symptoms, risks, and scientific prevention ament methods of varicose veins in plain language. They particularly emphasized the importance of daily prevention for groups prone to prolonged standing or sitting, the elderly, and manual laborersvocating for early screening, intervention, and standardized treatment. The event was highly praised by the grassroots community, with participants expressing that the experts' on-site services truly brought warmth and heao their side.

   On the morning of March 14, at the opening ceremony, relevant leaders and experts successively extended warm congratulations on the convening of the conference, empsignificance of standardized diagnosis and treatment of lower extremity varicose veins in improving medical service quality and patient outcomes. Following the opening ceremony, the conference proceeded to the thematic lecure session, featuring in-depth discussions on minimally invasive treatment of lower extremity varicose veins and related venous ultrasound topics.


On March 15, the conference continued with in-depth exchanges focusing on the standardization of venous ultrasound and clinical diagnostic challenges, chaired in stages by expertscluding Qiao Lang, Hu Lirong, Wu Xiaobo, and Luo Chunhua. During the morning session, multiple experts delivered presentations on topics such as ultrasound assessment of the lowtremity deep venous system, perioperative VTE prevention and control for varicose vein patients, and an interpretation of the 2025 Chinese Expert Consensus on Ultrasoundmination for Chronic Lower Extremity Venous Insufficiency. The content was both cutting-edge and practical. Following each session, experts including Chen Zhong, Li dong, and Wu Xiaobo provided commentary and engaged in discussions, addressing clinical doubts and difficulties through interactive exchanges, creating a lively academic atmosphere. In the afternoon, the conference focused on the practical oand clinical application of ultrasound technology, featuring a live demonstration of ultrasound assessment for varicose veins in the lower extremities. Through hands-on demonstrations and detailed explanations, participants were abo master the core processes and techniques of ultrasound assessment, further promoting the standardized application of venous ultrasound examinations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Executive Chair Professor Qi Xianfen presided over the closing ceremony, summarizing the success of the conference and expressing heatitude. She noted that through various formats such as keynote lectures, recorded surgical demonstrations, hands-on training, and interactive discussions, the conference comprehensively covered the core content of minimally invasireatment for lower extremity varicose veins and standardized venous ultrasound, effectively establishing a platform for academic exchange and skill enhancement.
