To address the clinical challenges posed by colorectal cancer, we aim to fully leverage the unique enabling role of health medical big data in tumor early screening, multidisciplinary collaboration (MDT), and individualized prognosis assessment. Organized by Chengdu High-tech Medical Association and Sichuan Health Information Society, and jointly hosted by Chengdu High-tech Medical Association Colorectal Cancer Committee, Sichuan Health Information Society Health Medical Big Data Committee, and Sichuan University West China Hospital, the "2026 Annual Joint Academic Conference of Sichuan Health Information Society Health Medical Big Data Committee and Chengdu High-tech Medical Association Colorectal Cancer Committee" was successfully held in Chengdu on August 29, 2026.

This conference, with the theme of "Digital Intelligence Empowerment, Precise Diagnosis and Treatment", brought together top experts and scholars from the fields of colorectal cancer and medical artificial intelligence across the province and beyond. Through various forms such as keynote speeches, new technology releases, surgical technique exchanges, and discussions on difficult cases, it conducted in-depth discussions on the latest advancements and future trends in colorectal cancer diagnosis and treatment, presenting a splendid academic feast for the participants

This conference was inaugurated under the chairmanship of Professor Yang Yun from West China Xijin Hospital of Sichuan University. Huang Luhe, the vice president of the Sichuan Health Information Association, and Xue Fan, the secretary-general of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association, delivered speeches respectively. Xue Fan emphasized that in the context of the Healthy China strategy, big data and artificial intelligence technologies play a significant role in promoting precise diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer and enhancing regional medical levels. He also expressed earnest expectations for the future work of the specialized committee.

Subsequently, the conference witnessed the "Launch of the Intelligent Agent for the Whole Disease Process Management of Colorectal Cancer - 'Gan An Zhi Yuan'". The chairperson of the Colorectal Cancer Committee of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association and Professor Wang Xiaodong from West China Hospital of Sichuan University announced the start of the release.

After the press conference, the academic presentation session of the morning session officially began. Four authoritative experts delivered fascinating presentations on the cutting-edge of artificial intelligence and tumor diagnosis and treatment.

The afternoon agenda was closely focused on three main topics: the latest advancements in colorectal cancer, extreme conservative surgical techniques, and sharing of difficult cases. These topics covered membrane anatomy research, immunotherapy, image-guided precise diagnosis and treatment, application of innovative surgical methods, and decision-making for difficult cases. Each session was led by the host experts, with the discussion participants actively participating. The academic atmosphere in the venue was intense, with frequent interactions.

The successful holding of this joint academic annual conference fully demonstrates the vigorous vitality of the integration of medicine and engineering, as well as the empowerment of digital and intelligent technologies in the field of colorectal cancer diagnosis and treatment. The Chengdu High-tech Medical Association will continue to play the role of a platform link, promoting the innovative transformation of big data and artificial intelligence technologies in tumor prevention and treatment, and facilitating the downward integration of high-quality medical resources and regional collaboration. It aims to help the diagnosis and treatment levels of colorectal cancer in the region and outside the region reach a higher level, and contribute more to the construction of "Healthy Sichuan".
