April 11 is World Parkinson's Disease Day.

When you mention Parkinson's disease, the image of the hand shaking involuntarily will come to everyone's mind. Because the cognition of Parkinson's disease will shake hands is too deep in people's hearts, so as long as there are shaking symptoms, people will think that Parkinson's disease is at fault.

In fact, hand shaking is a very common symptom, simple psychological tension will lead to palpitation, hand shaking. In addition, hyperthyroidism and hormone use can also cause hand tremors. The most common disease related to hand shaking is essential tremor, for example, some people will shake their hands when they are nervous, and the more nervous they shake the more severe, this tremor is the tremor when the movement, the more the movement, and Parkinson's disease is a static tremor, the movement is not shaking, which is the most obvious difference between the two tremors. So, shaky hands don't necessarily mean Parkinson's disease.

What are the symptoms of Parkinson disease

Parkinson's disease is a common neurological degenerative disease in middle-aged and elderly people. The problem is in the part of the brain that regulates body movement. Patients present with shaking hands, intermittent movement, and slow movement.

The Chinese Guidelines for the Treatment of Parkinson's Disease (4th edition, 2020) states that the population-wide prevalence of Parkinson's disease is about 0.3%. However, the prevalence of Parkinson's disease has doubled in the elderly population, and in the elderly over 65 years old, 1 to 2 people in every 100 have the disease; Three to five out of every 100 people over the age of 80 have the disease.

The hand shaking symptoms of Parkinson's disease have the following four characteristics:

● Obvious at rest.

● Increased mental tension.

● Lighten when doing random movements.

● Disappears during sleep.

Slowness is a central symptom of Parkinson's disease:

● When doing daily activities such as getting up and turning over, brushing your teeth and washing your face, your movements become slow.

● Lack of facial expression, no blinking, eyes staring, smiles slowly appearing and disappearing.

● Lower voice and slurred speech.

● Written words are small and curved, difficult to read.

Exercise is good medicine for people with Parkinson's disease. There is growing evidence that increasing physical activity not only reduces the risk of Parkinson's disease, but also partially improves motor and non-motor symptoms during the course of the disease and improves patients' quality of life.

Parkinson's disease patients should be under the guidance of professionals, combined with their physical function, disease control, personal preferences, to develop a scientific and reasonable personalized exercise plan.

Step by step and stick to it for a long time

When patients with Parkinson's disease exercise, it is necessary to step by step, and the intensity of exercise should not be too high when starting exercise.

During exercise, the heart rate does not exceed 40% of the maximum heart rate of aerobic exercise, and the duration of exercise is 5-10 minutes. If you feel good, you can continue to adapt to the exercise, and then gradually enter the moderate intensity exercise. It is recommended that each exercise not less than 30 minutes, if it is difficult to adhere to, you can be divided into 3 times, 10 minutes each time.

No matter what kind of exercise method is taken, it must be adhered to for a long time, do not fish for three days, sun nets for two days, or do not exercise on weekdays, and save to exercise on weekends, resulting in excessive exercise.
