Good News | Director of the Hospice and Palliative Care Committee of Chengdu High-tech Medical Association Selected as a Young and Middle-aged Backbone Talent under the Provincial Health Elite Program

Recently, the Health Commission of Sichuan Province announced the list of selected young and middle-aged backbone talents for the "Health and Wellness Talent Program" in 2025. Professor Liu Mengjie, the director of the Palliative Care Committee of the Chengdu High-tech Medical Association and the deputy director of the Nursing Department of Chengdu First People's Hospital, was successfully selected for this talent program due to her outstanding professional contributions, innovative research capabilities, and excellent clinical practice.

The "Health and Wellness Talent Program" is a high-level talent support project established by Sichuan Province to build a high-quality and professional health and wellness workforce, with a focus on selecting and cultivating promising mid-to-young-aged leading talents. The program aims to provide systematic support and training to help outstanding talents achieve breakthroughs in key areas and reserve core forces for the high-quality development of the province's health and wellness sector.

This honor not only highly recognizes Professor Liu Mengjie's professional capabilities and contributions to the industry, but also vividly demonstrates the substantial progress made in the construction of the society's specialized committees and talent cultivation. In the future, the society will continue to play the role of a bridge and link, strengthen professional support and resource integration, and help more outstanding health talents stand out and exert their talents, jointly contributing professional strength to building a high-quality and humanized health and wellness service system and promoting the construction of Healthy Sichuan and Healthy China.

Chair of the Hospice and Palliative Care Committee, Chengdu High-tech Medical Association; Deputy Director of the Nursing Department, Chengdu First People's Hospital. With long-term dedication to geriatric nursing and hospice care, her research focuses on "enhancing death literacy and integrating community outreach." She has led 3 provincial- and ministerial-level research projects, 19 municipal- and university-level projects, and has published over 20 academic papers, several of which are indexed by CSSCI. She has participated in editing 8 textbooks, contributed to the development of provincial industry guidelines and policy recommendations, and continuously promotes the standardization and normalization of hospice care. She has received two third-class prizes for Science and Technology Progress Award of Sichuan Province, one municipal-level scientific research achievement award, and has been honored as “Excellent Scientific and Technical Worker” by the Luzhou Association for Science and Technology in Sichuan Province.
